Acomplia or Rimonbant?
User
Can anybody help pls, i was taking reductil for a year and it stopped working a few months ago so i ordered accomplia from 4rx, i have read some good reviews abt this website thats why i ordered from them, then today an envelope arrived with the so called accomplia, no instrutions, nothing on the packet, i am very concerned over these and am unsure if i would take them, it says rimonbant on the packet not accomplia, i would really appreciate any advise on this or has anyone recieved anything like this.i have heard that they are tear dropped shape, yet these are round, really afraid to take them in case they are dude, but if anyone has recieved anything similar i would be relieved.
Thanks all for listening.

The real Acomplia is now off the market because the companies were worried about the few bad side effects, figuring that the rest of us could just go back to being fat.
There is no real acomplia being made anymore. The French company, Sanofi, quit making it a few months ago. However, there are several reverse engineered 'generics' made by several companies in India. So far, I know of Riomont, Slimona, Riobant and something else with a completely different name. None of these are shaped like the real acomplia. Most are simple round white pills tho Slimona is a teardrop shaped sort of thing with an aqua coating. I have not heard of the company you used. But all of the 'generics' I've heard of also say the generic name somewhere on the package in addition to rimonabant. Some come with package inserts, some don't. I can't say about the stuff you have, unfortunately.
p.s
a correction...slimona is sort of hourglass shaped with a hard aqua coating.

Hi there, I too have just started taking the tablets today, and also am slightly worried about the side effects, but I suppose if you are careful the benefits will hopefully be worth it Good luck anyway

About side effects...for whatever it's worth...I have used both Acomplia by Sanofi (the original) and one of the Indian 'generics,' ... specifically Riomont. I do see a difference in side effects but, honestly, not much difference in effect. Both have helped me lose very, very gradually. It has been nearly two years and I've lost 30 lbs. I would like to lose another 20. It took six months for the first weight loss to show up. I find the Indian pill to have fewer side effects... a bit less anxiety and my blood pressure isn't up as much. As for the intestinal problems...frankly, I've been seriously constipated my entire life. My mother said it dated back to my infancy and no amount of fiber helped. It's a joy not to be.

Hi 1
I started Acomplia on saturday which is 3 tablets ago haha, i read horror stories about side affects and was worried sick, but so far i have not had any, my motion is slightly softer than normal but certainly nothing to moan about, although i am weighing daily (oops) and not dropped a pound yet, wishfull thinking for it to happen so fast i know. How are you doing with it? whats you start weight and aim? if your not happy saying how much do you want to lose i need to lose 5 stone to be anywhere near my "ideal" weight. Look forward to your reply x x

Hi I've just started my second pack of acomplia today. Feel ok noticable side effects to me include tiredness, some forgetfulness. Intially the hiccups!!! I only weigh myself when I go the Dr's to be monitored so after the first 2 weeks i had lost 8lbs. I have found that they do surpress my appetite and I really cannot stand the smell or thought of things like fish and chips.
One other thing in the UK my pharmacist told me about the support that the makers of Acomlia offer. They run a supporthelpline/website not sure if anyone else has been told. You complete a registration form with the pharmacist who then sends it away you get regular phone calls at times to suit you, advice and support line open 8 till 8 everyday and they send you things in the post to help you ie a perdometer, tape measure etc
You can log onto the website at anytime for guidance and you can set your self targets.

Acomplia with Anti-depressants???
Basile
Can anyone tell me if you can take acomplia with anti-depressants?
Veronica
As Acomplia works on the brain receptors which induce pleasure sensations by blocking off this feeling of pleasure so that we do not eat too much food, it deprives depressed people from one of the only pleasures they are capable of enjoying while depressed. I imagine that this is why doctors do not want to prescribe Acomplia to people who are depressed because it might make them feel even more miserable, besides which, the serotonine reuptake inhibitors in anti-depressor pills might cancel out the effects of Acomplia. That is just an idea. I have no proof.

Anyone using Riomont (Acomplia)
joe
A friend of mine has family in India and he got us each a 100 day supply of Riomont. This is a generic of Rimonabant made in India.
Does anyone have any information about this brand in particular?
I plan on starting it tomorrow. I am currently about 6' 2" and 315 pounds. I was able to lose about 50 pounds on 2 occasions in the last 10 years in just a few months but I gained it right back. I have tried a few times to diet and exercise in the last couple years but didn't stick with it long enough to lose more than a couple pounds.
I am hoping this will help me to stick with the diet which in turn will help me to stay motivated with exercising.
Mountaingal
I have tried the brand you refer to. I did not find it as good as Monaslim but it sure is better than nothing. Gotta get some of "the real thing" and try it. After some months the generics just aren't as effective as I'd like.
Good luck.
ycardozo
How many different brands of 'acomplia' are they making in India. Is Monaslim another Indian version of Acomplia?
joe
I know of Riomont, Monaslim and Slimona. I think each pharma company there makes their own generics and gives them a unique name.
I have only been taking it for 3 days now but I feel it is having an affect. I can't compare it to anything else as far as how much of an affect but I think it's doing something.
